Google Finds Atlantis

by John Nemec on February 23rd, 2009

Google has once again proven its worth to mankind, it may have found the lost city of Atlantis off the coast of Africa!

As you may already know, Google, in their quest to better serve humanity, has been mapping the ocean floors for us.  In the process of doing this public service they came across a grid like pattern that could only be man-made, and it just so happens to be in a place where the Greek philosopher Plato said Atlantis should be.

Plato had said that Atlantis was 620 miles of Africa’s coast, past the Canary Islands.  He wrote that the land was home to advanced civilization before earthquake and floods sunk it into the sea around 9,700BC — nearly 12,000 years ago.

You can read more about how Google humbly doesn’t want to take credit for this great discovery, and the closed-minded counter point of view at Daily Tech.
