The World Would Be a Better Place If…

by John Nemec on July 16th, 2010

The world would be a better place if we could just give everyone a purpose. People in general need/want to have a reason/meaning for what they do. The age old question still holds true, what is the meaning of life? While we may never answer it, if everyone had a purpose, be it a job, a love or a passion, people would have a better chance at finding happiness.

I don’t believe anything should be given to anyone. While temporary happiness can be found with a gift, true happiness is found when you earn something. Not to get to political, but to be given something by the Government is not helping anyone. It goes back to the ‘teach a man to fish’ saying. It would be more cost effective to educate people and give them the ability to obtain a job then to feed them nightly and give them a home to sleep in. It may sound heartless, but if someone can not take care of them-self then they maybe they are a drain on society. If an animal in a pack is not pulling it weight, it’s either abandoned or eaten, maybe we can learn something from our animal cousins.

It doesn’t matter how rich you are, or if you have the nicest cloths, or if you have the newest toys, but that you are truly happy. If those things make you happy, then hopefully that will push you to be more successful so you can afford the luxuries. If you’re happy eating cold hotdogs and koolaid in an unconditioned apartment, more power to you, live your life as you see fit, just don’t beg me or my government for money.
