A Message from Joshua
While cleaning out my inbox I ran across an old email that, apparently, I didn’t respond to. I think I remember when it came in, many months ago, and thinking it must be spam or a phishing scam, but now looking at it again I’m not so sure. The email was addressed to DJ Lance from the Yo Gabba Gabba! show from a grandmother on behalf of her sick grandson Joshua.
So, to help me sleep better tonight, I sent the email off to the Yo Gabba Gabba! team on the Nick Jr. site. Who know if this person will get a response, and I hope, if it’s true, that she does and that Joshua is OK.
Without trying to invade anyone’s privacy I’ll post the email sent to me, leaving out any personal information of course, to let you decide if you think it’s a scam or not. And if you think it’s true, please pray to your respective gods and iPhones or just send your well wishes through the cosmos that Joshua turns out to be OK.
The Message:
I want to start by saying thank-you! My grandson, Joshua loves your show. Let me tell you why I am so grateful to you. Joshua is now nearly 15 months old and he LOVES your show. He is a sick little boy at his age he has had more surgery than any person should have, I think it is 7 now. I’m ashamed to say I lost count, some were major and some minor, but they were more than I would want in a lifetime. He has a lot of kidney problems (he only has one) and major intestinal problems that need to be fixed. Any way this last surgery took a toll on all of us. Especially Joshua. To our great surprise the hospital he was at in (blank) has these portable DVD players, they wheel right up to the bed. When we were asked what he would like to watch the only show that he does watch is Yo Gabba Gabba and they had 1 DVD with 4 episodes on it. When we turned it on he was so overjoyed. He was in so much pain until he saw your orange sneakers. They let us keep that DVD for 10 days. It saved us at some very unhappy and painful times. If you could acknowledge this letter I would be very happy. Hope to see you in NY in October. Pray for Joshua he has another surgery in early August at (blank). Thanks for the show.

Blinker 7OE
I’ll make this short and sweet.
Wife had another 7OE moment the other day, this time it involved her blinker. For the past few days she has been telling me that her blinker lever felt like it’s further away than it should be and that I need to look in to it. In an effort to avoid work I’ve been telling her that her left arm must be shrinking due to old age and she should just get used to it.
On a trip to the park, I decided to drive, and since we were taking the Kiddo and his bike we took her car. It’s a short trip, so there is not a lot of blinker action going on, in fact, I didn’t even remember the past complaints about the blinker.
When I pulled in to our parking spot at the park I saw a glaring light reflecting off of the car in front of me, luckily no one was in it. That’s when I realized the problem with the blinker lever; she had been driving with her brights on for 3 days! 7OE!
