I’m Not Lazy, I’m Doing Other Things
It may seem like I’ve been lazy for the past few days. I haven’t posted anything new since October 14th, but I have been working. I’ve updated my Who Is John Nemec? page, I’ve created a Forum for JohnNemec.com and I’ve also been working on other projects, one of which is my band Achalachia.
Who Is John Nemec?
I follow my Analytics religiously, and I notice that I get a lot of hits on the Who Is John Nemec? part of my site. But every time I went there myself I quickly got bored and wanted to change it. Every time I opened the page to edit I got overwhelmed and worked on something else. But I was tired of looking at a bad page with no useful information, so I hunkered down and fixed it. Hopefully now it’s a true About Us page, where it talks about what the site is about section-by-section, who I am, and where else you can find me online. If there is something else I’ve missed, let me know and I’ll add it right away.
JohnNemec.com Forum
If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve also created a Forum section on JohnNemec.com. Not that it was a lot of work to build it, it’s the Forum Server WordPress plugin by VastHTML.com, but it did take some time configuring it and adding the initial information. The point of the Forum, as I state in the Who Is John Nemec? section, is to stimulate conversation. I really don’t want this site to be a one way street. I want interaction from the viewers. So, like the point of this site, I’ve added my interests as starting points for the Forum, with the hope that it will grow into a large community of people with the same interests as myself.
Achalachia
When I’m not working my full time job at Graybar, or being a family man with my wife and 2-year-old child, or working on JohnNemec.com, or freelance web developing, I’m trying to be a rock star. OH yes, that’s right kids, I want to be a rock star with I grow up. I have a St. Louis Rock Band called Achalachia (pronounced A Ka Lay Sha). We playing shows on average twice a month and practice twice a week, and this eats up a big chunk of my time, not to mention I run the website, Facebook and MySpace pages as well. I do love doing it, but every once in a while, usually around show time, I’ll start slacking on other things, and usually the first thing to suffer is my hobby, JohnNemec.com.
So I haven’t been lazy, just putting JohnNemec.com off for a while to do other things. I have a lot of good stuff coming up in the near future, I just need to do some finishing touches on the research and I’ll post it. But until then, I’ll keep posting about My Boring Life.
