Twitter Grader

twitter-graderSo while doing my random interweb wanderings, where I just start on a site and click till I get bored, I came across Twitter Grader. I haven’t found and ‘About’ page or any description of what it officially does or doesn’t or even how it does it, but it is interesting.

Twitter Grader from the start is pretty simple, enter your twitter username and click Grade. After a while, right about the time when you are tired of looking at the “Pithy quips are hard. It’s difficult to convey a sense of whimsicalness in a few words.” screen, it’ll finish thinking and you’ll get your grade. Along with the grade you’ll receive all the normal Twitter information for the account requested (Profile Summary).

I haven’t found the point of the Login yet. You enter your Twitter information, and WHAM, your waiting again. This process takes a little longer than I care to wait, and if I wasn’t so curious I would just leave. In fact, any other site to this point I would leave. But eventually, you’ll get in, and your back to the same information you had before. In fact, I’ve found no difference between pre and post login.

Twitter Grader has a few options that the ambitious Twit may want to use, like Twitter Elite.  With Twitter Elite you can find the Top Users, Top In Location, Top Cities, Top States and Top Countries. So someone with too much time can try and Tweet their way to the top, and see who’s in-front of them.

There are also a couple of neat tools that Twitter Grader offers like TwitSnip, TweetIt Button Builder, and Twitter Grader Badge.

The TwitSnip is by far the coolest of the tools, its simply a tool to post to Twitter.  But you can also quote text from a web page and it will find the @user for the page and link back to the source.  The built in URL shortener is helpful as well.

If you know of any special things that I may have missed, let me know. Also, try it out, and let me know what you think of Twitter Grader

Gmail Autopilot

Google’s 2009 April Fools Joke – Gmail Autopilot

Almost every year Google plays an April Fools jokes on the world. One of this years jokes is the Gmail Autopilot. What Gmail Autopilot is supposed to do is respond to your emails for you, because you don’t have the time to do it yourself. It will read your emails and sample your writing style and respond to every email you receive.  Here are some sample Autopilot responses:

Respond to business proposals

Respond to business proposals

Manage relationships

Manage relationships

Match your personal style

Match your personal style

Google also claims that Gmail Autopilot will work for Gmail Chat as well, which I would personally love for many different reasons.

And the concern that we all have is, what if a sender and recipient both have Autopilot on? Google says:

Two Gmail accounts can happily converse with each other for up to three messages each. Beyond that, our experiments have shown a significant decline in the quality ranking of Autopilot’s responses and further messages may commit you to dinner parties or baby namings in which you have no interest.

I love April Fools day, and I cant wait until next year to see what Google does next!

Oh, and don’t forget to read the Gmail Autopilot Terms!
